- The Automotive Service Technician will be responsible for staying current with the latest diagnostic methods and service techniques for vehicles sold and serviced by the dealership.
- Daily responsibilities include performing work as outlined on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy, adhering to dealership and factory standards.
- The technician will follow factory and dealership repair procedures when performing warranty work.
- Participation in service technician training programs and in-dealership service training activities is expected.
- The role involves recording the cause of failure and a description of work done accurately on all repair orders.
- Regular communication with the service manager and service technician team leader is necessary to confirm repair order information and diagnostic information.
- The technician will also be responsible for requesting parts from the parts department as necessary.

- A successful candidate will possess a high school diploma or equivalent and have a general mechanical knowledge of all basic systems of a vehicle.
- The ideal individual should have the ability to read and comprehend written instructions and information effectively.
- Strong manual dexterity and good judgment are essential for operating power and hand tools safely.
- Demonstrated customer service skills are important for interacting with clients and ensuring their satisfaction.
- Candidates should have a valid driver's license and the ability to drive manual transmission vehicles.
- A graduate of a mechanical vocational trade school or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Technical aptitude is important, ideally demonstrated by ASE certification or successful completion of a pre-employment test.
