- The Staff Software Engineer will work on the Observability team at Reddit, focusing on infrastructure and software development
- Responsibilities include creating and maintaining the foundational platform for running Reddit's infrastructure
- Delivering software to improve availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of observability components
- Contributing to the technical and strategic direction of eventing at Reddit
- Automating critical aspects of the event-driven development process and sharing on-call responsibilities
âš¡ Requirements
- Experienced software engineer with at least 7 years of internet-scale software development, particularly in infrastructure
- Proficient in troubleshooting both systems and software, with a strong background in distributed systems development
- Skilled in Kubernetes and familiar with tools like Prometheus, Thanos, Grafana, Vector, Clickhouse, Otel, and Loki
- Self-starter with excellent communication skills, able to collaborate effectively with a service-oriented team
- Comfortable contributing to open-source projects and working on challenging infrastructure and software engineering problems
