✨ About The Role
- As a Flight Controls Engineering Intern, you will develop and implement control law algorithms for REGENT’s seagliders.
- The role involves addressing novel control challenges due to the vehicle's multiple operational modes: hull-borne, hydrofoil-borne, and wing-borne.
- You will leverage high-fidelity simulations and live-flight testing to validate and verify control systems.
- Collaboration with aero, hydro, and mechanical engineers, as well as systems and test engineers, will be a key part of the job.
- The internship will provide hands-on experience throughout the transition from simulation to full-scale prototype sea trials.
âš¡ Requirements
- The ideal candidate is pursuing a BS or MS in Mechanical, Robotics, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related engineering discipline with a focus on controls.
- A strong passion for aviation, aerospace, electrical, and/or nautical vehicle design and development is essential.
- Candidates should possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with a solid understanding of engineering fundamentals.
- Experience in algorithm development using MATLAB/Simulink and C/C++ for embedded software is highly desirable.
- Research or technical project experience in complex, nonlinear flight control design methods will be beneficial for success in this role.
