- The Launch Engineer will be responsible for developing and commissioning a new launch pad from scratch at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.
- This role involves all phases of the product lifecycle, including architecture definition, component selection, and detailed mechanical design.
- The engineer will perform analysis to size mechanism components for various critical applications related to launch vehicle operations.
- The position requires hands-on support for mechanical installation and integration, ensuring designs are implemented correctly.
- The engineer will also develop and execute test plans for commissioning and activation of systems in coordination with the operations team.
⚡ Requirements
- The ideal candidate will have over three years of experience in mechanical engineering, specifically with hydraulic systems and mechanisms in high-performance applications.
- A strong understanding of mechanical design principles, kinematics, and material selection is essential for success in this role.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software, particularly Siemens NX, is required to create detailed designs and models.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
- The candidate should be self-directed, able to prioritize tasks, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
