- Evolve Zip’s data access layer for sharded and distributed databases to support global expansion.
- Improve database scalability, reliability, performance, and operational efficiency to support the company's growth.
- Collaborate with product engineering teams to design new features for data access layers that better support their use cases.
- Support and influence the technical designs of Zip’s products.
- Work on Ent, TAO, and the underlying database to enhance performance and support the company's accelerating business.
⚡ Requirements
- Experienced software engineer with over 5 years of cloud infrastructure experience, particularly in designing and implementing data access layers.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related technical field involving coding, such as Physics or Mathematics.
- Proven adaptability and eagerness to quickly learn new frameworks, architectural patterns, and programming languages as needed.
- Familiarity with designing and implementing distributed systems such as databases or storage solutions is a plus.
- Ability to collaborate with product engineering teams to design new features and enhance database scalability, reliability, and performance.
